… 2 weeks is not enough
… thank you for the best two weeks in Heidelberg. This summerschool was a very good experience!
… I really enjoy this summerschool program and want to say thank you so much, especially for Prof. Kim and all of the team, who prepared all of these things to make us feel comfortable during studying and learning here. To all of Professors, doctors, residents I want to say big thanks because I can fulfill my dream going to Germany for summerschool, even if it was very short. And thank you to all my dear colleagues who joined this summerschool class of 2024. See you again!
… All memories in Heidelberg are AMAZING! I am so honored to be here meeting new and great Professors and many friends. I want to thank Prof. Kim for showing me how to enjoy the moment, how to love our job and showing me to always love learning. I hope I can visit Heidelberg again and have a visit again and also hope we can meet again, in international periodontal seminar too. Thank you very much for all the Professors, doctors, the residents and the staff for your warm welcome to us. Stay healthy and see you again!
… Thank you everyone. I had a wonderful time with you all: the conversation, the laughter, sharing and food, experience, precious moment with all of you. It means a lot to me.

My expectation for summerschool 2024 was …

… to gain further knowledge about periodontology and meet colleagues from all around the world.
… fulfilled!
… new knowledge, friends, etc.
… new experience, new perspective on periodontology
… to see what is the level of my theoretical knowledge in perio.
… I get to know how to diagnose and generate treatment plans better
… I expected to learn more about periodontology, train in practical courses and also have interesting social non-academic activities.

In fact, my experience in the 2 weeks of summerschool was …

… a transformation on both academically and personally, offering me new perspectives on how periodontology influences patients overall health.
… beyond expectation, very fun to meet up new friends.
… I have experienced to meet new friends, stay in Germany used to be my dream before, as a student. Trying new foods, see other perception/point of view to make a treatment plan, realized the impossible can be possible after I saw lecturers’ cases. That amazed me.
… this past two weeks have been an amazing experience! I got to meet new friends and improve my skills while doing hands on course.
… the best professional experience I`ve ever had.
… out of my expectations.

During the 2 weeks I have appreciated …

… the diversity of the groups and the wealth of ideas and experiences each participant brought.
… the colleagues from whom I learned different things about them and their culture.
… your passion, organization and effort to provide us with high-quality courses, renowned speakers and interesting hand on activities to improve our practical skills. I also valued the involvement and enthusiasm of the entire team in every social activity.
… all the hospitality from lecturers and residents of Heidelberg university.
… I can go hiking to Thingstätte, I can finish my hands on, even if it`s not easy at first, I can talk to foreigners and make new friends even if I am an introvert and a little bit shy.
… Prof. Kim’s and her team’s effort. They all were so caring and loving to us. Thankyou! We really felt welcomed.
… the hospitality and kindness of everyone who participated in the organization of summerschool. Special Thanks to Prof. Kim!

The most impressive aspect was …

… all about Heidelberg itself!
… motivation and advice from Prof. Kim. Her energy.
… the hands-on sessions which allows me to refine my skills and gain confidence in performing advanced procedures.
… to share different perspectives of treatment plans and to find solutions to problems in regard of periodontology. And sometimes to see different and sometimes the similar approaches.
… doing hands on with new techniques or instruments.
… reach the top of Thingstätte and come back home safely.
… that I had an opportunity to know people from other countries better, to know more about their culture and see that we all have got a lot in common!

The best thing I have learnt …

… Its ok taking small steps but don’t stop, just keep going.
… Prof. Kim’s statement “Pain is temporary. Pride is forever.”
… through the courses and discussions in Heidelberg, I gained a deeper understanding of the importance of preserving natural dentition whenever possible.
… to be evidence based.
… is to see other point of views to make a treatment plan, have hands on with tools I haven’t tried before (e.g. membrane fixation pin)
… is how important the quality of the people you work with is.
… “Its ok to be not perfect.”
… variability of periodontal treatment besides my place.

The hardest part for me was …

… when I did hiking. Hahaha
… to speak in front of the others.
… to leave my house for 2 weeks, it was the longest time alone spent abroad for me.
… realizing that the flight back home is approaching.
… saying goodbye to this summerschool program.
… to travel alone and know nothing about other people in the first days. As days went by, I think I made really good friends here!
… waking up early.

What will last in my memory …

… I think this summerschool will stick in my heart forever. Thank you, Prof. Kim, PD Dr.
Rütters, Prof. Eickholz, Dr. Bartha, Prof. Schlagenhauf, Prof. Sculean, Prof. Caton, Prof. Kwok, Prof. Mertens, Julian, Alex, Jannik, Ingvi, Marcia and all the people behind that organized this summerschool. Hope we can meet again one day. Stay healthy!
… interactions with peers and mentors which make me do a commitment to excellence that was emphasized throughout the program and Prof Kim’s dedication!
… beautiful Heidelberg
… The night hiking we did while singing and enjoying our time together from colleagues from all around the world and watching the city lights of Heidelberg and the castle.
… every single moment spent here will, for sure, last in my memory … but something truly unique, that gave me a quite strong and different feeling was singing in the amphitheater.
… All of Heidelberg things like activities, (learning and outdoor), Prof. Kim and team who have welcomed us warmly and prepared all the program very well. I will never forget and we hope we can meet again next year in Indonesia. Vielen Dank ☺
